In total, we cleared over 100 metres in a single day — helped along by our robo flail, which was ideal for tackling the more awkward areas. The machine’s low profile made it perfect for working beneath overhanging limbs where tractors and larger flails simply can’t reach. This is a great example of how remote-controlled flail mowing can speed up site clearance without compromising on care or precision.

While on site, we were also asked to deal with a fallen pine along the boundary. We made it safe, cut and stacked the timber to be left for a habitat pile.

This job highlighted just how effective mechanical scrub clearance can be for reclaiming overgrown land quickly, particularly in rural settings where manual work alone would be too time-consuming or costly. We frequently support landowners and estate managers across Kent and the South East with similar projects — whether it’s a one-off clearance, field margin restoration, or part of a larger land management plan.

This week saw us working for a Kent-based pharmaceutical company. The job involved clearing trees and scrub on the boundary to keep vegetation from encroaching onto the neighbouring properties.

Our tracked flail/mulcher makes quick work of scrub, but the combination of a mulcher and woodchipper often speeds up this process with the manual felling of larger trees. This method of vegetation clearance flailing means less time on site and less disruption to our client’s business.

Our customers regularly commend us on how tidy we leave their sites. This is only improved through our use of the tracked flail which takes care of all scrub, and a thin layer of woodchips spread evenly through the belt of trees finishes the job off perfectly, and also leaves valuable organic matter in place.

As our business and client list grows, so too does the range of services we offer. There has always been something of a crossover in services between arboriculture and groundwork but until now this has largely been outsourced. Due to customer demand, T.D Environmental Services has made the crucial decision to expand the range of groundwork services we offer throughout Kent. This has involved an investment in both equipment and staff, but has enabled us to offer our loyal customer base a one-stop solution to their tree and groundcare needs.

Site clearance can be complex, with multiple companies involved, from the tree surgeons who carry out the initial clearance of trees, or flail contractors for the mulching of overgrown vegetation, to the companies responsible for clearing general waste on disused and neglected sites. The client previously had another contractor carry out this vegetation clearance Maidstone, Kent. They used an excavator then scraped the vegetation into a pile to be burned and took 4 days. We completed this in under half the time and required no burning of the vegetation. Therefore saving the client money and causing less disruption. The remote mulcher cuts vegetation into tiny pieces. This eliminates the need for removal as it composes back into the ground. Although if specified it can be removed.

This site in particular was overgrown grass and weeds. So an easy task for our machine. When carrying out site and vegetation clearance Maidstone. A member of the team will survey the site. This usually involves a walkover then an aerial shot of the site. We do this because when carrying out a survey. The vegetation is normally too dense to walk through. Therefore the aerial shot lets us see any surprises that may appear such as fly tipping and bodies of water.
